Shake Shack is collaborating with local Beijing purveyors and artists to make Sanlitun a community gathering place even before opening. Construction kicked off with an immersive 440 square meter mural, "Shake Shack Hutong", by talented local artist Young Yu. The mural invites guests to walk the perimeter to experience scenes from Beijing’s rich history and urban culture blended with Sanlitun's trendy neighborhood. Guests can then enter a long corridor to immerse themselves in Shake Shack’s New York City roots.

　　Guests are encouraged to visit the Sanlitun Shack, snap a pic with the mural and share the photos by scanning the QR code on the mural. If guests have other favorite Shake Shack pics, they can also tag through “潮人街区” on the WeChat account. Participants stand a chance at snagging exclusive swag or an invite to the opening, and the best pics will be reposted on Shake Shack’s channels.
